"What was resilience has curdled into resentment"

That's the moment. When high-functioning women hit perimenopause, midlife, or just one too many demands. When everything that got you here starts poisoning you instead.

I speak to what happens in that gap.

Who I am

What makes this conversation land

Trauma therapist. Speaker. Author. Sociologist. Mother of four neurodivergent daughters. 22+ years watching competent people quietly unravel, and understanding why.

I've been there too. I've burnt out as a mother, a leader, and a corporate professional. I knew perimenopause would collide with parenting teenagers, I just didn't know it would break me. And I didn't anticipate raising four daughters who weren't diagnosed as neurodivergent until their teen and tween years, when everything was already hard enough. Late diagnosis is its own kind of grief. It changes how you understand everything that came before.

That breakdown became my comeback. It forced me to understand what was really happening beneath the surface, in their nervous systems, in mine, in the systems that had missed them, in the culture that had nearly consumed me.

My work bridges nervous system science, trauma resolution, and the social forces shaping our collapse. I bring a sociology degree and a deep curiosity about what's beneath what we see, the cultural narratives, the systemic pressures, the invisible forces reshaping how we parent, work, and relate.

I don't just help individuals heal. I help them see the culture that broke them in the first place. That changes everything.

The perimenopause reckoning — Not another "manage your symptoms" talk. This is about the threshold moment when our biology demands we reckon with how we've been living. For women, it's often the first time the body refuses to cooperate with the narrative we've been sold: if you just try harder, sacrifice more, it'll work. That's the cultural lie that breaks us. And perimenopause won't let us pretend anymore.

Burnout isn't individual failure—it's systemic — We're told burnout is about poor boundaries or not self-caring hard enough. That's a lie that lets toxic cultures off the hook. The truth? Isolation, perfectionism, and unsafe work environments literally reshape our nervous systems and our families. When we understand it's cultural, not personal, everything shifts. Parents get angry at the right things. Leaders build different cultures.

The loneliness crisis is structural — We've built economies and cultures that reward self-sufficiency at the exact moment humans need connection most. Dual incomes. Scattered families. Neighbourhoods where no one knows each other. School systems that isolate parents. Then we're shocked when families fracture and kids can't regulate. This isn't about trying harder as individuals. It's about recognising what our culture demands of us, and what it costs.

Nervous system science meets social reality — Our bodies aren't broken. Our environments are. Understanding nervous system dysregulation without understanding why we're dysregulated keeps people stuck. The two have to go together.

The simple truth — Humans aren't wired for self-sufficiency. We're wired for interdependence. For belonging. For real community. Every piece of research, every culture that's thrived, confirms this. But we've built a system that punishes it. What happens when we see that clearly? We get angry. We get different. We rebuild.

Your listeners will connect if they're:

Burnt out and wondering if it's actually their fault (it's not). Mid-life or mid-identity shift. Parents of any kind navigating isolation, especially those parenting neurodivergent children, raising kids who've been late-diagnosed, or grieving all the years before the diagnosis explained everything.

Leaders who see their teams drowning and want to understand why, and what to actually do about it. Educators and therapists tired of being asked to band-aid systemic problems. Organisational culture workers ready to look at what's actually broken, not just the individual symptoms.

Anyone curious about what's beneath what we see, the cultural patterns, the invisible forces, the systemic lies we've internalised as personal failure. The parents discovering their child is neurodivergent and realising they might be too.

People ready to get angry at the right things. And then different.

Bringing nervous system science, trauma resolution, and cultural truth-telling to conversations that matter.
